Using mattifying spheres (trust Soap & Glory to conjure up yet more weird and wonderful technology) to absorb any oils, this primer helps to control shine for twelve hours and it really does the job. Whenever I'm heading out for a busy day and need to ensure my makeup is looking perfect without worry, I can rely on this primer to have my back. Other, similar primers maybe help to keep my makeup looking better for an extra hour or two, but this is the first which has kept my base looking flawless all day. Even though I've never had an issue with obvious, open pores, this primer honestly makes my skin look like rubber. Creating a blurring effect, skin is given an airbrushed look, whether used alone or before foundation. Instead of taking away too much shine so that the complexion ends up looking dull, it keeps the skin looking radiant and healthy, thanks to a dose of vitamin E. Instantly after application, the skin-tone is evened out, pores are reduced and the complexion is given a satin finish that doesn't look at all dry or powdery. Some formulas start to peel off and ball up as you rub them in, but this silky, creamy gel just smooths on and doesn't affect any skincare applied underneath it. Of course, it still gives a velvety, smooth finish, but it doesn't leave behind a thick, stifling layer of gunk on the surface. What makes Soap & Glory's creation stand out from the rest I've tried, is that it's more hydrating and doesn't feel like it's clogging the skin, despite managing to minimize the appearance of pores so well. One Heck of a Blot is £12 and the kabuki brush is £9.Previously, I've been put off silicone-based primers as they tend to feel quite artificial and suffocating. It is lovely and soft and has the perfect density for picking up a good amount of product.Ĭonsidering how fantastic these products are, their high street price tag makes them a great option for any budget. It is a travel sized kabuki brush which is perfect for popping in your handbag. I like to apply this powder with the Soap and Glory Face and Body Brush, which is a match made in heaven. As with all Soap and Glory products, the packaging is fantastic with a fun, glamorous, vintage feel. There is a powder puff in the compact but it’s not great and I threw mine away. The powder comes in a well made, sturdy compact that has a good sized mirror in the lid which is perfect for touch ups during the day. I have been carrying mine around in my handbag so that I have it with me at all times and, as you can see, I have already hit pan. It mattifies and sets your makeup flawlessly and has good lasting power. The powder is extremely finely milled and doesn’t look cakey or chalky on the skin. However as a result, it does not offer any coverage at all. It is a translucent powder which means that it is perfect for all skin tones you don’t have to worry about finding the right shade for you and it can be worn all year round. I bought this powder a few months ago to replace my Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder and I have been really enjoying it. Is it just me or has anyone else been loving Soap and Glory makeup lately? They have really been knocking it out of the park recently and I have been particularly impressed with their One Heck of a Blot face powder paired with the Face and Body Brush.
