It could be they're doing it the chipotle way or it could be they have a soul and pass on the tip.P.F. It's all base pay (if someone has please chime in). I don't know if it's bc they have different systems and it would take time, money, and effort to set up a way just for driver tips or what but third party deliveries from chipotle I've never gotten a tip. Chipotle has no way of passing on the tip(or doesn't want to) since doordash is delivering as a third party. If you order on the chipotle website and tipped the driver won't get that tip. Chang's website and they gave it to doordash to deliver third party we may or may not get the tip. It's one of the few restaurants that I immediately jump up and go to even tho it takes them a while to make the food, but I've never seen a P. Chang's orders are high paying in my area a lot of the time. Would you mind telling me what it says?" And every single one of us drivers would be more than happy to check and let you know.Īsk the driver next time. Just say "hey, I put a pretty good tip on there for you but I want to make sure you got all of it. The best way to tell is to ask your driver. If some orders give us more than they show, then there's always a chance that $4 delivery will be worth $10. It's really dumb that they hide tips from us, but it's how they weasel people into taking tiny orders. And sometimes we see that the actual amount of the delivery is higher, and we see that you actually tipped $15 for a total of $17-18 to us. When we drop off your order we then finally get a breakdown of payment. Because from our end it looks like a huge order which may only include a $3-4 tip. Now suddenly they feel like they probably got stiffed a good tip. When they get there, they see that the food order was $120 worth of food. They accept the $8 delivery, then head to the restaurant. So instead, maybe the driver was offered $8 total for the delivery. I say should, because Doordash does this thing now where sometimes they don't show us the whole tip. Doordash will likely pay $2-3 in addition to your tip, so the offer to the driver should say $17-18. Let's also say the driver has to drive 5 miles. Could be $1 from Doordash and $10 tip, could be the opposite. We don't know how that $11 is broken down though. If we accept it, we know we are good for that $11. So if your order pops up it will show us a map with the restaurant and your location on it, and give us an offer. So when we accept an order, we accept it based on a bare minimum amount. Yes, they are likely getting your tip, but you should try checking with a driver just to see (more on that in a sec). have I been tipping the restaurant 25%+ to pack up a ToGo order and stiffing the driver? Be gentle on me.Ĭouple things. How do they expect you to tip the drivers if you’ve order via another app? I already know that the DD tipping system is crap in general but I’m wondering what DD and PF Chang’s relationship is. All this time I thought the tips were - at the very least - being split with drivers. But I’m gonna but super pissed if this isn’t going to the driver in some way. My question is when I tip on their app does the Door Dash driver get the tip? (which is what I am assuming and hoping) Tonight I tipped $15 on a $60 order and the driver seemed polite but kind of disappointed after he delivered like I stiffed him or something. Prefer to order directly from them because of food allergies and PF Chang’s (at least ours locally) does a great job of addressing allergies via the app. So I order from PF Chang’s via their app, delivery is free (over $25) DoorDash is the delivery partner.
